PRO-LIFE ICON JOSEPH STANTON DIES

BOSTON (CWN) – Dr. Joseph R. Stanton, the “patriarch of the pro-life movement in Massachusetts,” died on Tuesday at 77 years old after years of fighting for the right to life, despite his own lifelong battle with polio.

Dr. Stanton founded Massachusetts Citizens for Life and the Value of Life Committee of Massachusetts and was chairman of the Coalition for Responsible Government. In his 70s and hobbled by crutches, he joined Operation Rescue and still later organized a drive for an updated version of the Hippocratic Oath.
