OMAHA, Dec 16 (LSN.ca) - Following the uproar created by the revelation that the University of Nebraska was doing federally funded experiments using baby parts from elective abortions, the World-Herald newspaper discovered that other universities also perform the immoral research. The paper reported that the University of Iowa, the University of Minnesota, Yale University, the University of Colorado, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill admitted to the use of fetal tissue from elective abortions.

The paper notes that the National Institutes of Health awarded 288 grants during 1998 and 1999 for research involving human fetal tissue, but added that the research uses fetal cells from various sources. The sources include umbilical-cord blood, placentas, elective abortions and spontaneous abortions.
