ANOTHER NEWBORN MURDERED BY MOTHER
SIMCOE, ON, Feb 24 (LSN) Further evidence of the tragic dehumanization of babies in a pro- abortion culture was demonstrated yesterday in an Ontario court. Twenty-one-year-old Kristy Wood pleaded guilty to drowning her newborn child two years ago. The National Post reported today that Wood faces up to seven years in prison for infanticide and disposing of a dead body.
TAXPAYERS FUND ABORTION, BUT NOT CANCER TREATMENT
TORONTO, Feb 24 (LSN) - Yvette Sherman, 56, who had emergency cancer treatment in France during a trip there last July has been told by the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) that her treatments were "elective" and therefore not covered. Sherman was diagnosed by a French doctor with cancer of the cervix and urged to undergo immediate treatment, reported the Toronto Star. After calling OHIP and being told to proceed if it was an emergency, Sherman received radiation treatment and a hysterectomy.
Despite this apparent claim that OHIP does not cover elective treatment, it does in fact maintain an aggressive commitment to fund abortion which is almost without exception an elective procedure.
GUILTY HOMOSEXUAL PEDOPHILE GETS NO JAIL TIME
TORONTO, Feb 24 (LSN) Homosexual pedophile Robert McGuire of Scarborough pleaded guilty to sexual interference on three counts of fondling a child between 1992 and 1996. This started when the child was five years of age. The Toronto Sun reported that judge David Humphrey "gave McGuire an 18-month conditional sentence, placed him on three years probation and prohibited him from being around children under age 16 for the next 54 months."
The victim's mother was "devastated" that her child had to relive the horrors during testimony all to no avail. She noted that her child had attempted suicide and the family had suffered severely as a result of the abuse. "We have suffered through hell for seven years and he won't spend a minute in jail," wept the mother.
During a search of McGuires home, Toronto Police found home-made videos of naked boys under 10 years of age playing in McGuires home. Incredibly, Crown attorney Liesha Earle who worked out the sentencing deal with the defence lawyer said, "As unfortunate and tragic as this case is, the sentence is within the range."
The ruling comes on the heels of the recent BC court decision to strike down portions of the Criminal Code that criminalize possession of child pornography. Evidence is mounting quickly to vindicate pro-family groups for their long-time warning that the acceptance of homosexuality begins the slippery slope to acceptance of pedophilia. When people talk about not permitting the government to interfere in personal moral decisions as Alberta Premier Ralph Klein urged during his speech at the United Alternative conference, they may unwittingly be opening the door to the decriminalization of pedophilia. Those who hold political power need to exercise the responsibility that comes with their positions of influence.

HAGUE YOUTH FORUM ATTACKS BASIC VALUES
THE HAGUE, Feb 24 (LSN) A UN "Youth Forum" held February 6-7 as a prepcom for the upcoming five-year review of the "Programme of Action" established by the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD + 5) did not accurately reflect the views of world youth. Professor Richard Wilkins of the NGO Family Voice charges that many of the "Recommendations" in the youth forum's Report directly conflict with widely held religious norms and attack basic moral values.
Professor Wilkins reveals that the report calls for "Comprehensive sexual education in schools." And says further that such education "should be mandatory at all levels," and "should cover sexual pleasure, confidence and freedom of sexual expression and orientation."
Professor Wilkins has graciously made his complete report available to LifeSite which can be found at:

WEST CRITICIZED FOR SILENCE ON CHINESE HUMAN RIGHTS ABUSES
BONN, Germany, Feb 24 (LSN) Yesterday exiled Chinese freedom fighter Wei Jingsheng criticized western nations for looking on "in silence as human rights are trampled daily in China." Wei stressed that the only Western politicians that speak forcefully for human rights in China are those not in positions of power. He said that the UN is "an organization without authority, which sends representatives to Beijing simply to be able to say it has made efforts towards dialogue."
Agence France-Presse reported that Wei rejected the notion that economic dealings with China encourage change. This is the approach that has been adopted by Prime Minister Chretien. In terms of economic partnerships "China is making the rules and the West is playing by them," said Wei.
