AGEING DEMOGRAPHICS BEGINS CAUSING PROBLEMS

OTTAWA, July 14 (LSN) - A report by the Conference Board of Canada notes that Canadians are experiencing greatly elevated stress levels with a growing number of families caring for elderly family members. "Almost one in four Canadian workers today, versus not quite two in 10 surveyed 10 years ago, said they or others in their households provide care or support in some form to an elderly, disabled or seriously ill family member," the report said. Whereas formerly large numbers of children would share the care of elderly family members, today sick and elderly parents are often left to the responsibility of only one child.
These problems, which will become far more severe, were predicted some time ago by pro- family and pro-life leaders as a natural consequence of the abortion and contraceptive culture. The solution to the aging problem by this culture will inevitably be a massive application of euthanasia. The pro-life and pro-family solution is simply for couples to have more children and for government policies to once again support family life and withdraw support for abortion and other de-population policies.
The Conference board described the ageing demographics problem as a "sleeping giant", adding that the "giant has awakened."
