LINDA GIBBONS SENTENCED TO THREE MONTHS
TORONTO, July 21 (LSN) - Canadian pro-life heroine, Linda Gibbons, was in court today and sentenced to another 3 months in jail on top of the 43 days she has served since her latest arrest. She was defended in court by the well-respected US pro-life defense attorney John Broderick. Also in court with Linda were Emidio Galea and Bernard Crawley who were arrested with her outside the Scott abortuary in Toronto.
Broderick argued that the "bubble-zone" injunction which is being used to incarcerate Gibbons is invalid since it was invoked as a temporary measure, but has been in effect now for nearly five years. He also took the opportunity to present strong testimony about the horror of abortion, concluding that the accused "were acting in the highest order of charity".
Emidio Galea was given a conditional discharge after spending 43 days in prison and was ordered not to be found within 100 metres of an abortuary in Toronto for one year. Bernard Crawley testified that he was arrested for merely praying his Rosary while walking back and forth in front of the abortion mill. He was released on bail after his arrest and was given a conditional discharge on similar terms to that of Galea.
