ROCKEFELLER'S PHONY "CATHOLIC" GROUP TRIES TO BOOT VATICAN FROM UN
UNITED NATIONS, Mar 26 (LSN) - A group calling itself "Catholics for a Free Choice" (CFFC) has proven to be the furthest from Catholic in attempting to strip the Vatican of its voting status at the UN this week.
CFFC is a very low membership front group for a number of powerful anti-Catholic U.S. foundations that vehemently oppose the Catholic Church's international influence on population- related and moral issues. Through CFFC, the Rockefeller, Ford and Playboy Foundations and International Planned Parenthood, have been attempting to spread a great deal of confusion about the church's position on these issues and to undermine the credibility and authority of legitimate, faithful church leaders and institutions.
Wednesday, CFFC held a meeting entitled "A Challenge to the Vatican's Status at the UN" thereby launching a postcard campaign calling on UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan to conduct an official review of the Holy See's status as a voting delegation at the UN. The pro- abortion CFFC was unsuccessful with a similar campaign in 1995. At the CFFC sponsored meeting, one of the CFFC's members is alleged to have physically assaulted a member of the NGO Couple-to-Couple League. Tristan Abbott, was grabbed and pushed away from a display table on which the CFFC was promoting their anti-Vatican campaign. The Catholic Family and Human Rights Institute has filed a formal complaint against the CFFC member with the NGO section of the UN's Economic and Social Council.
Commenting on the news of the CFFC attempt to strip the Vatican of its UN status, American Life League President Judie Brown said that the Vatican expresses "truths based on Biblical doctrine and 2,000 years of sound moral teaching, which is indirect conflict with the Satanic utterances of those who despise God's truth and seek shelter in the darkness of the culture of death." "As the major voice in defense of the natural law," Brown added, "the Vatican not only deserves to retain its status at the UN, it should be applauded for bringing attention to facts that save the lives of women and their children at every stage of their biological development."
The profound chagrin for the pro-life movement and the Catholic Church expressed by the UN in its decision to accredit the CFFC as an official NGO is clearly seen by the following facts culled from an expose on CFFC. Francis Kissling, the director of the CFFC since 1980, was the founder of the National Abortion Federation. CFFC's first headquarters were located in Planned Parenthood's New York City office building. CFFC has received millions of dollars in grants from organizations whose motivations are pro-abortion and anti-Catholic including the Ford, Rockefeller and Playboy Foundations.
