US APPEALS COURT UPHOLDS PARTIAL BIRTH ABORTION BANS

CHICAGO, Oct 27 (LSN.ca) - In a major victory for pro-life forces in the US, the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals yesterday upheld partial birth abortion bans in Illinois and Wisconsin. "We conclude that both laws can be applied in a constitutional manner," Judge Frank Easterbrook wrote in the majority opinion. The ruling reverses an earlier decision by a federal judge that the Illinois law was unconstitutional and a decision to block enforcement of the Wisconsin law. Predictably, infanticide advocates who want to be able to kill babies up to the moment of their birth have promised to appeal the rulings to the Supreme Court.
