DEVELOPMENT AND PEACE GAVE $110,000 TO ABORTION MARCH

OTTAWA, Apr 6 (LSN.ca) - The Canadian Catholic Organization for Development and Peace, which initiates fundraising drives throughout Catholic churches on Good Friday, has confirmed that it donated $110,000 to the World March for Women 2000 over a period of three years (1997- 2000). LifeSite has learned that the March Committee in Canada is even more explicitly pro- abortion and pro-lesbian than the international group. Notably, the Canadian Women's March Committee includes the abortion activist groups: Canadian Abortion Rights Action League and the National Action Committee on the Status of Women.
The March for Women 2000 started on March 8, International Women's Day and runs till October 17th. The group's website claims that it currently includes more than 3700 groups from 149 countries. Some of the demands are noble such as education; employment, property and control of safe water; decent housing; and health care. However abortion and lesbian "rights" are key demands as well.
The statement on the "demands" for the March on the Canadian site is obviously pro-abortion as it includes the statement, "We won the right to control when and if we choose to have children with the decriminalization of abortion and contraception."

Alarmingly LifeSite discovered that the Canadian site even includes an action item to lobby Canadian politicians against including the traditional definition of marriage in Bill C-23. http://canada.marchofwomen.org/en/participate/index.html
