HALLOWEEN DESIGNATED UNICEF DAY BY GOVERNMENT
OTTAWA, Oct 5 (LSN.ca) - Yesterday the Liberal Government officially designated Halloween as National UNICEF Day. Prime Minister Jean Chrétien praised UNICEF for having "instilled in [children] the values of compassion, charitable giving, voluntarism, participation and defending the rights of children around the world - values which we consider to be distinctly Canadian." Pro-lifers have long questioned UNICEF and its agenda, refusing to support the controversial organization.
LifeSite has amassed substantial evidence to demonstrate that UNICEF has become a very willing partner in the population control anti-child and anti-family programs of the UN. Until recently, UNICEF was vehemently denying its involvement in contraception and abortion programs. Since the Vatican's Nov. 1996 withdrawal of its targeted $2,000 annual symbolic contribution, UNICEF seems to have dropped the pretence and has become more open about its participation in such programs.
