PRO-ABORTION FEMINISTS EMPHASIZE BISHOPS' SUPPORT FOR MARCH
Toronto March of Women pamphlet highlights abortion/lesbian demands
TORONTO, Sept 12 (LSN.ca) - One of the feared outcomes of the support by Catholic leaders of the pro-abortion World March of Women 2000 has been realized.
The Toronto Organizing Committee of the World March of Women has been distributing a pamphlet on the March called "Women are marching." The pamphlet notes that "the cuts to social programs have ... jeopardized access to safe legal abortion." Listed under "the Toronto World March Organizing Committee demands:" are four requests two of which read: "No roll back of reproductive rights. We support a woman's right to chose on abortion and full access to free abortion" and "Full rights for lesbians."
The pamphlet was being distributed recently at the Canada Pavilion at the Canadian National Exhibition. Pro-lifer Christine Majta received the pamphlet at the March of Women table. Ms. Majta informed LifeSite she was told by one of the women that the Catholic Church supported the March and was handed material saying the "Canadian Catholic Bishops Respond Pro March!"
The material lists in large bold type the names of Bishop John Sherlock of London, Archbishop Marcel Gervais of Ottawa, Bishop Fred Henry of Calgary, and Bishop Gerald Weisner, president of the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops. It also quotes Bishop Sherlock's attack on pro-lifers: "If pro-life people had their way, we would all be living in a ghetto and crying about how unclean the rest of the world is." Another article by Bishop Weisner in support of the March is also featured in the handout.

FULL GAY MARRIAGE PASSES DUTCH HOUSE
THE HAGUE, Netherlands, Sept 12 (LSN.ca) - Today the Lower House of the Dutch Parliament passed a measure 107-33 allowing homosexual marriage. The legislation is thought to be the furthest-reaching so far around the world in making homosexual marriage on par with heterosexual marriage in all respects including adoption of children.
LifeSite has learned that the bill was especially pushed by three legislators who had originally succeeded in getting a "registered partnership" law passed. This confirms warnings that "registered partnerships" bills are meant as a stepping-stone to granting full marriage rights to homosexual partners. Two of the three legislators, AnneLize van der Stoel and Boris Dittrich, are active homosexuals living with their partners, but do not intend to marry. The bill will now go to the Senate where it is likely to be adopted within six months.

TORONTO TRANSIT GREETS STUDENT PASSENGERS WITH GAY MESSAGE
TORONTO, Sept 12 (LSN.ca) - A Toronto father informed LifeSite that all bus transfers issued by the Toronto Transit Commission this week and last prominently contained one of three different homosexual services messages. The three messages - "gay services", "bisexual services" or "lesbian services" - also told passengers to "look in your White pages." The father noted that twice a day his children and all passengers had no choice but to be subject to the propaganda since the transfers are mandatory for anyone changing buses.

The US 9th Circuit Court of Appeals is to hear an appeal of the $108 million judgment against the American Coalition of Life Activists. On February 8, 1999, a Portland jury of eight men and women awarded Planned Parenthood and other abortion-related plaintiffs $108,000,000 in damages in a case brought against 12 pro-life activists and 2 pro-life organizations because of "wanted poster"-style brochures that they were alleged to have passed out in 1995. The media says the case is about the Nuremberg Files website, but that is false since the defendants had nothing to do with the website.
