GENEVA, June 28, 2001 (LSN.ca) – The last prepcom for the United Nations World Conference Against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance ended June 1. The battle to prevent the UN from using the documents to promote homosexual activism is set for the conference itself, which will be held in Durban, South Africa, 31 August to 7 September 2001. As LifeSite reported in March, one of the prepcoms for the conference added discrimination based on “sexual orientation” to the anti-racism agenda. After the latest revision of the draft document, the inclusion of the loaded term “sexual orientation” remains.

The fact that the conference will serve as another opportunity for the UN to push pro-homosexual activism has not been lost on homosexual activists. As LifeSite reported earlier this month, the International Lesbian and Gay Association (ILGA) has gone so far as to demand that the treaty ban media broadcasts critical of homosexuality.

Canada will undoubtedly lead the way for pro-homosexual activism as it usually does at the United Nations. In fact, EGALE, Canada’s foremost homosexual activist group, boasted that officials in the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, “confirmed that Canada would continue to push for recognition of sexual orientation equality issues at the World (Racism) Conference.”

The campaign against “discrimination based on sexual orientation” in Canada has led to:  – A Christian man being fined for having published an ad listing Bible versus against homosexuality (the newspaper was also fined)  – Christian Mayors being successfully prosecuted by human rights tribunals for failing to proclaim “Gay Pride” celebrations – Christian schools losing court cases over firing practicing-homosexual teachers – a Christian printer being fined for refusing to print homosexual propaganda – a general trend of progressive removal in law and government and institutional practice of religious and free speech rights for those who hold traditional moral principles on the issue.  – on-going, major government, media and institutional supported campaigns to indoctrinate Canadians of all ages with the gay rights philosophy See the draft declaration at:  https://www.un.org/WCAR/1.3e.pdf
