LONDON, Mar 13, 2001 (LSN.ca) - Leaders of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) met in London yesterday to discuss their mutual goals of abortion's provision and spread throughout the world under the guise of "reproductive health promotion". Ms Thoraya Obaid, the Executive Director of UNFPA met with IPPF's Director-General Mrs Ingar Brueggemann, as well as with IPPF central and regional directors.

A press release from IPPF, the worlds largest abortion provider highlights the similarities between the two organizations giving the lie to the UNFPA's claims that it is not pro-abortion. "The complementary work of UNFPA and IPPF, shared values, and increased co-ordination of the organisations' roles were all addressed . . . In her welcome address, Mrs Brueggemann reaffirmed the UNFPA-IPPF relationship, underscored by the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two agencies," says the IPPF release.
