UNICEF IN COMEBACK ATTEMPT IN TORONTO CATHOLIC SCHOOLS
TORONTO, December 12, 2002 (LifeSiteNews.com) - The Interim newspaper reports that UNICEF is trying to regain its access to Toronto Catholic school-children. This time, they have enlisted Catholics for a Free Choice, the small but well-financed heterodox group that promotes abortion and contraception with the support of large corporations like Hewlett-Packard.
Surprisingly, in September the Toronto Catholic District school board voted 5 to 3 to allow UNICEF to make a Halloween-box presentation next May with a view to re-introducing the boxes in the schools in October 2003. For five years, the district's students have carried collection boxes for Aid to Women, which is a crisis pregnancy centre and pro-life counselling service.
"The secular media pander to UNICEF because of the agency's generous advertising budget," writes Frank Kennedy in The Interim. But in October the Calgary Herald published a persuasive exposé detailing the agency's nefarious activities.
