WASHINGTON, June 12, 2002 (LSN.ca) - Republican Sen. Sam Brownback, the main proponent of legislation which sought to ban all forms of human cloning, has changed the legislation from banning therapeutic cloning to a 2-year moratorium on the procedure. AP reports that Brownback's fellow party members approved the amended plans Tuesday basing the decision on a perceived lack of votes to pass legislation containing a comprehensive ban.
