HOMOSEXUAL ACTIVIST GROUP BEHIND HATE CRIMES LEGISLATION ADMITS POSITION
Separation of Homosexual Act From Homosexually Oriented Person Not Acceptable
OTTAWA, October 23, 2002 (LSN.ca) - Equality for Gays and Lesbians Everywhere (EGALE), Canada's foremost homosexual activist group has admitted that public statements by religious groups against homosexual sex rather than homosexual persons would be unacceptable under their pet legislation. EGALE is the main motivation behind NDP MP Svend Robinson's bill C-415 which aims to include "sexual orientation" in hate crime laws. As LifeSite has reported the bill is to be reintroduced into parliament at the same status that it reached in the first session of parliament. It will be considered as having passed second reading and will be in the justice committee hearing stage.
In an interview with WorldNetDaily Kim Vance, president of Ottawa-based EGALE, Equality for Gays and Lesbians Everywhere rejected the Christian concept of 'love the sinner but hate the sin'. The Christian mode of condemning the sexual deviant behavior associated with a homosexual sexual orientation, while offering love and respect for those afflicted with the condition, is a non-starter with the activists behind the legislation. "The argument of separating the person from the behavior is their concept," said Vance. "In reality they are the same thing. That's language that they use to justify [opposition], but it's language that we don't agree with."
