NEVADA COMPELS ALL PHARMACISTS TO HAND OUT ABORTIFACIENT DRUG
No exceptions on grounds of conscience or religion

CARSON CITY, April 8, 2003 (LifeSiteNews.com) - The Nevada state Assembly has passed an amendment to prohibit pharmacists from refusing to fill prescriptions for certain drugs on religious grounds, reports the Las Vegas Review Journal. It means that Catholics, Mormons and other pharmacists with religious objections are not allowed to refuse to fill prescriptions for any drug, including contraceptives and the so-called "morning after" pill.
The vote was a victory for Planned Parenthood, which lobbied for the move to crush freedom of conscience. But Assemblyman Joe Hardy, a Boulder City Republican, said he would try to amend the law to allow pharmacists a way out if they have a "personal ethical or religious" objection.
