Secret Document Reveals Coordinated Effort to Enforce Universal Abortion on Demand
Document reveals basic dishonesty and manipulation by pro-abort groups at U.N.
NEW YORK, December 5, 2003 (LifeSiteNews.com) - A leaked top secret document detailing the international plans of one of the most powerful pro-abortion organizations has confirmed long-standing suspicions that pro-abortion organizations worldwide are planning to force all countries to provide abortion-on-demand through international law. The over-60-page document, which has been revealed by the Catholic Family and Human Rights Institute (C-Fam), details the reports coming from a late-October meeting where the Center for Reproductive Rights (CRR) sets out its international strategy including a list of pro-abortion contacts around the world with whom CRR is scheming.
C-Fam Vice President Douglas Sylva told LifeSiteNews.com that the documents "confirm the warnings of numerous pro-life organizations and researchers who have pointed out that a coordinated effort was underway to use international treaty and court decisions to foist pro-abortion legislation on countries, even those countries which currently have pro-life laws." As seen in the recent American court decision striking down the Texas sodomy law, international court decisions are used as precedents for domestic cases and allowing manipulative interpretations of constitutions.
The CRR documentation does not hide the coercive nature of the movement's intentions. The documentation states plainly that the "overarching goal is to ensure that governments worldwide guarantee reproductive rights out of an understanding that they are bound to do so." The document indicates that CRR is working to expand the interpretation of internationally-accepted rights such as the right to health, and freedom from discrimination and ending violence against women, to include abortion. CRR admits the surreptitious nature of their maneuvers: ""there is a stealth quality to the work: we are achieving incremental recognition of values without a huge amount of scrutiny from the opposition."
The document reveals a basic dishonesty and manipulation about the public workings of CRR and related pro-abortion groups which work at the United Nations as NGOs. Sylva told LifeSiteNews.com, "This should be a wake-up call, not just for the pro-life world but, for anyone concerned about sovereignty and honesty in international negotiations."
While CRR and related groups claim to be working for the advancement of women's health and similar issues, their underlying agenda is to see to it that those same rights are interpreted to include abortion and thus for a pro-life country to forbid abortion would mean it denies women 'health care'.
