ANOTHER BRITISH MAN TO DIE IN SWISS SUICIDE CLINIC

LONDON, January 2, 2003 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Another elderly British man has applied to check into one of Switzerland's assisted suicide clinics. The man, aged 70, reportedly has incurable motor neuron disease. LifeSite reported in November that a 77-year-old British man with terminal throat cancer had become the first British citizen to kill himself with the aid of the Dignitas assisted suicide group in Geneva.
Meanwhile the Dutch Supreme Court has ruled that a doctor who helped an elderly man "tired of living" to die was guilty of criminal assisted suicide. The Dutch ruling upholds "strict medical guidelines" for mercy killing, even though euthanasia is legal in the Netherlands.
