NEW EXPOSÉ OF CHINESE 'GULAG' PRISON CAMP SYSTEM
WASHINGTON, January 10, 2003 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Famous Chinese dissident Harry Wu has published a new book, titled "The Troublemaker," exposing the horror of the Gulag-like prison system in the People's Republic of China. The Gulag was a system of Soviet prison camps throughout Siberia, best-known from Alexandr Solzhenitzyn's epic account, "The Gulag Archipelago."
Although many people in Western countries believe China's human rights practices were never as bad as in Russia and elsewhere (and are now often said to be improving), Wu argues that former Chinese dictator Mao Zedong "killed just as many people as Hitler, maybe even more. ... He intentionally sought to destroy the traditional Chinese family system because it is inherently subversive to the collective Communist utopia." Wu's experience shows that Chinese Gulags continue to operate today, and that Beijing harvests bodily organs from inmates, many of whom are political prisoners.
A reviewer at Newsmax asks: "How many Americans at the mall during this past Christmas season gave a thought to all this when they saw the label 'Made In China'?"
