CATHOLIC CHURCH ADVISED TO SUE 'SEX-EXPERTS' WHO COUNSELLED PEDOPHILE PRIESTS
NEW YORK, January 14, 2003 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Dr. Judith Reisman, Ph. D., the researcher who uncovered the fraud underpinning the field of sexology created by Dr. Alfred Kinsey, has advised the Catholic Church to sue the so-called sex "experts" who advised the Bishops and allegedly "treated" sex abuser priests. An article by the Catholic Citizens of Illinois and The Wanderer Press points out that Reisman believes that the 'treatments' given to predator priests in Kinsey-inspired therapy sessions were so grossly ineffective, that the Catholic Church and the victims of clerical sexual abuse have a legal claim against these sex clinics for medical malpractice.
As LifeSite has previously reported, Reisman's research revealed that Kinsey used pedophiles to come up with data on sex experiences of children aged two and under. Moreover, Kinsey used data from prostitutes and prisoners and extrapolated the results to the general populace. His research, relatively recently debunked by Reisman, was the spur to the devastating Sexual Revolution of the Sixties.
Dr. Reisman noted that, "the members of the Catholic Church have a unique opportunity during this catastrophic challenge to help the entire nation to pull itself out of the very tragic place it has fallen into." In addition to a catastrophic loss of faith within the Church hierarchy, the hidden source of the current child sexual abuse scandal "is the constant stream of immorality in the media and popular culture that has polluted the nation and the Church. The main source of the sexual scandal today is Dr. Kinsey's sexual revolution."
Dr. Reisman is currently consulting with several attorneys regarding class action suits whereby the Catholic laity can seek damages from such sex therapists. Moreover she has developed a proposal mapping out the legal strategy for suing the "treatment centers" that accepted predatory priests fraudulently promising to rehabilitate them, which has been submitted to Pope John Paul II.
Reisman noted that legal precedence for culpability of therapists for fraudulent malpractice has already established by a $5.7 million award in 1984 against one such center, which had established a record for treating and releasing sexual predators who continued to prey on children after they had been allegedly "cured."
Finally, Dr. Reisman warns that the influence of Kinsey's fraudulent research pervade society and even the Church. She notes that Catholic school sex-education classes and seminary training on sexual matters are often products of Kinsey's followers. Regrettably, even some of the advisors which were appointed to the oversight board regarding the recent sexual abuse scandal are adherents of Kinsey.

PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE LIEBERMAN CONDEMNED FOR PRO-ABORTION VIEWS BY FELLOW JEWS
WASHINGTON, January 14, 2003 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Democratic Sen. Joe Lieberman announced Monday that he was in the race for the Democratic nomination for president. Despite being the highest pro-file Jewish candidate to run for President, Lieberman faces opposition from Jewish religious leaders for his rabidly pro-abortion and anti-family stands.
During Lieberman's 2000 Vice-Presidential run, Rabbi Isaac Levy, chairman of Jews for Morality, warned fellow Orthodox Jews that "Lieberman's voting record on Infanticide, Pornography, and "Gay-Rights" is a disgrace to the Orthodox Jewish community."
Rabbi Levy pointed out that on abortion and infanticide, "Joseph Lieberman supports abortion at any stage of pregnancy, even while the baby is already being born ('partial-birth abortion'). He voted to oppose the bill (H.R.1833) that would have outlawed this barbarous procedure. All Orthodox Jewish authorities on halacha (Jewish law) agree that 'partial-birth abortion' is murder." Regarding pornography, "Lieberman voted to oppose the Communication Decency Act (S.652) that sought to protect children from Internet pornography, while supporting the National Endowment for the Humanities, a group that funds sacrilegious pornography."
Lieberman is also a favourite of homosexual activists. "Lieberman voted for the ENDA Act (S.2056), a bill which adds homosexuals to the group of minorities who are entitled to special affirmative-action privileges. He also voted for the Hate Crimes Act, a bill that would give to homosexuals special protections that are not granted to citizens in general," said Levy.

CHINA VOWS NOT TO RELAX ONE-CHILD POLICY
BEIJING, January 14, 2003 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Despite various media outlets that spoke of a relaxation in China's brutally enforced one-child population control policy, greater China's business newspaper - The Standard - reports that "there will be no relaxing of the 22-year-old one-child policy." The Minister of the State Family Planning Commission announced Friday that the government hopes to keep the country's population below 1.33 billion for the next two years.
The government aims to keep the population below 1.6 billion by 2050 with zero population growth. The paper reports that the population is currently 1.28 billion.

$1000 CONTEST CHALLENGES ANYONE TO FIND STUDY SHOWING ABORTION POSITIVE
VANCOUVER, January 14, 2003 (LifeSiteNews.com) - The Reduce Preterm Risk Coalition (RPRC) has, after an extensive search, failed to find a single study showing that a woman's risk of dying after an abortion improves. Contrary to the claims of abortion advocates who assert that abortion can better women's lives, studies have shown that women's risk of dying increases dramatically after abortion.
RPRC points out that "In 1997 the top Scandinavian journal in the field of women's health reported that in the 12 months after an induced abortion, such women had a 252% higher relative TOTAL risk of dying compared to women who delivered. ( Acta Obstet Gyn Scand 1997; 76:651-657 )" The $1000 prize in the contest is to go to the first person who counters the Scandinavian study with a study showing significantly lower total one year death risk to women who have elective abortions compared to women who delivered.
RPRC admits however that the contest money will likely never be awarded. "If we knew of such a study (we have looked hard), we would not be holding this contest 3 decades after 'Roe v. Wade'," says the RPRC release.
Brent Rooney of RPRC points out that the 22 Jan. 1973 'Roe v Wade' U.S. Supreme Court decision making elective abortion 'legal' contained a stipulation that elective 'terminations' that are not in a patient's best interest are still not legal. Thus, with no studies to demonstrate abortion is in a woman's best interest, the contest is aptly named the "Keep 'Roe v Wade' legal Contest".

PARTIAL BIRTH ABORTION SPECIALIST TO OFFER FREE ABORTIONS ON ROE ANNIVERSARY
WICHITA, Kansas, January 14, 2003 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Notorious abortionist George Tiller plans on giving free abortions in celebration of the 30th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the landmark ruling that decriminalized abortion on demand. But the anti-abortion group Operation Rescue West says, no abortion is free.
Operation Rescue West's Troy Newman said, "Abortion costs at least one human life and countless sorrow. A free abortion masquerades the deadly price tag of a lifeless baby. Abortion kills us physically and ultimately costs us our spiritual life. Plus the physical side-effects like pain, emotional suffering, punctured uterus and sterility add up to bill nobody can afford."
Newman countered Tiller's free abortion claims as a publicity stunt intended to mainstream abortion on demand. But according to Newman, this ploy has been tried and failed in years past. In fact, abortionist Tiller unsuccessfully offered to give out free abortions last year at this time but over 85 percent of his appointments were canceled.
"The actions of this killer represent an extremist position, even within the pro-choice community. Once again we can see that the pro-life position is both the reasoned and normative approach to abortion (child-killing) and the pro-death merchants are the radical domestic terrorists profiteering from the death of little boys and girls," added Newman.
"You can not put a value on a human life, thus, to offer "free murder" is a callous contradiction. Give away balloons and candy at a birthday party, but all abortions will ultimately cost us everything we have."

ABORTION FOES JOIN TO PROMOTE 'CIVILITY'
WASHINGTON, January 14, 2003 (LifeSiteNews.com) - A pro-life activist and an abortion proponent are joining forces to set an example of "civility." Fr. Frank Pavone, the head of Priests for Life, has invited longtime pro-abortion counterpart Bill Baird, director of the Pro-Choice League, to spread the message that the abortion debate should be conducted with respect and without violence.
Mr. Baird was defendant in the 1972 Supreme Court case Baird v. Eisenstadt, which struck down a state law prohibiting distribution of contraceptives, according to CNS News. Justice Harry Blackmun later cited Baird as the precedent for Roe v. Wade.
Fr. Pavone says the initiative "doesn't mean we're calling for compromise." Both sides, he says, "work very hard for our respective causes," but the message is: "Don't dehumanize people on the other side of the debate, either by violence or by deliberate insult. ... I encourage people who picket the abortion clinics to form friendships with the people who work inside and maybe get together for lunch and things like that."

PARTIAL BIRTH ABORTIONS TRIPLED IN FOUR YEARS SAYS GUTTMACHER SURVEY
WASHINGTON, January 14, 2003 (LifeSiteNews.com) - A just-released survey of abortion providers by the Alan Guttmacher Institute (AGI) showed the reported number of partial-birth abortions more than tripling from the same organization's survey four years ago.
The AGI survey for 1996 (released in 1998) for the first time asked a question relating to partial-birth abortion (which they called "D&X"), and then estimated that "about 650" such abortions were performed annually in the U.S. Stanley Henshaw of the Alan Guttmacher Institute was quoted as saying, "The numbers aren't exact, but I'm pretty sure it's in the 500 to 1,000 range" (The New York Times, Dec. 11, 1998). Despite grave defects in the method by which that number was arrived at, and its obvious inconsistency with other evidence, the figure was immediately accepted as credible by some news media, and since has been cited by various news outlets and pro-abortion advocates.
The new survey, using the same method, estimates that 2,200 "D&X" (partial-birth) abortions were performed during 2000 -- more than tripling the 1996 figure.
"The number of partial-birth abortions reported has more than tripled in just four years," commented NRLC Legislative Director Douglas Johnson. "Either the number of partial-birth abortions is increasing rapidly, or the news media were mistaken in accepting the 1996 figure, or both. In reality, there is good evidence that even the new figure of 2,200 is much too low."
In the new study, AGI tries to minimize the significance of the 2,200 figure by saying that it amounts to only a fraction of 1% of all reported abortions. Johnson commented, "It is unbelievably callous to dismiss the killing of 2,200 mostly delivered babies as 'rare.' If a virus was killing 2,200 pre-mature infants, we'd call it an epidemic."
Johnson noted that the survey question describes the abortion method in a way that is so confused and inaccurate that even abortionists who have performed hundreds of partial-birth abortions, as legally defined, could honestly answer that they have never performed the procedure described in the question. Secondly, responses to the AGI survey are purely voluntary, and abortionists who perform large numbers of partial-birth abortions may be disinclined to feed the national controversy by voluntarily reporting.
Johnson noted that in 1997, Ron Fitzsimmons, the executive director of the National Coalition of Abortion Providers, gave a series of well-publicized interviews in which he repudiated the claim that the partial-birth abortion procedure was used rarely and mostly in acute medical situations. He said those claims were merely a "party line," and were false. The truth, Mr. Fitzsimmons said, was that "in the vast majority of cases, the procedure is performed on a healthy mother with a healthy fetus" (The New York Times, Feb. 26, 1997). He estimated that 4,000-5,000 abortions annually are performed by the partial-birth method. That is a sizable fraction of all of the abortions performed in the fifth month and later.

COLUMBINE SCHOOL BANS GOD FROM RENOVATION TILES
Supreme Court declines to hear father's appeal
DENVER, January 14, 2003 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Columbine High School, the scene of 15 shootings on April 20, 1999 including a teacher and the two murderers, who shot themselves, is refusing to allow the father of one of the victims to mention God on one of several memorial tiles to be placed inside the school.
Brian Rohrbough, whose son Danny was killed in the shootings, says the U.S. Supreme Court has declined, without comment, to hear an appeal of a ruling that keeps families from having tiles that make reference to God from being placed with 4,000 others along the school's corridors above the 6-foot-high lockers.
The school district explained that the tiles should not have a memorial theme, to avoid reminding students of the horror of that day -- nor should they carry a religious theme, "observing the constitutional requirement that church and state remain separate."
