ACTOR ED HARRIS THINKS HE'S 'A REAL MAN' FOR PICKING ON UNBORN CHILDREN

WASHINGTON, January 27, 2003 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Actor Ed Harris ("Apollo 13," "A Beautiful Mind," "Enemy At The Gates," "The Right Stuff, "The Truman Show," etc.) apparently has no idea what a man is, but he claims to know what a man is not. Speaking at the fund-raising event of NARAL (National Abortion and Reproductive Rights Action League) Pro-Choice America, Harris decided that he could not leave the stage without attacking the manhood of President George W. Bush.

After concluding his prepared remarks, Harris decided to adlib: "I gotta say one last thing.I haven't even been drinking-at all. But you know, being a man, I've gotta say that we've got this guy in the White House who thinks he is a man. You know, who projects himself as a man because he has a certain masculinity and he's a good ole' boy and he used to drink and he knows how to shoot a gun and how to drive a pickup truck etcetera like that. That's not the definition of a man, god-damn-it!"

"While Harris told the crowd what a man is not, he did not say what a man is," said Douglas R. Scott, president of Life Decisions International. "But then again, we did get a glimpse of what Harris would call a man during his prepared remarks."

"I'm here because my wife Amy is a fervent fighter for women's rights...she's got me in her hip-pocket and I'm happy to be there and always will be," Harris said.

"I understand what a man is now," Scott said. "A man is one who is in the 'hip-pocket' of his wife. A man is one who exhibits sophomoric behavior by questioning another guy's manhood. A man is one who thinks it is all right to kill children, to encourage others to kill children, and even to kill children with his own hands. If this is the definition of a man, Harris is truly a man. But in reality, this is the definition of a coward and an elitist bully. I think it's time for Harris to go back to acting and leave politics to real men and women-those who defend the defenseless, speak for the voiceless and reject death as a 'solution' to social problems."

Just prior to attacking the President's masculinity and taking God's name in vain, Harris exhorted the crowd by saying, "God bless you all and let's keep the fight up." "So Harris can beat up on unborn children," Scott said. "Oh yes, that makes him a real man," Scott said.
