UNITED NATIONS, March 31, 2003 (LifeSiteNews.com) - The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the European Union have teamed up to target youth in seven Asian countries with "reproductive health services" - which includes abortifacient drugs. The agreement signed last week will see the European Union give $24 million to UNFPA for the three-year 'Reproductive Health Initiative for Youth in Asia', targeting Bangladesh, Cambodia, Laos, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Viet Nam.

In the press release, UNFPA boasts that last year it signed a similar agreement with the EU for nearly the same amount of money to target 10 African and Caribbean countries. Thoraya Ahmed Obaid, UNFPA's Executive Director commented on the deal saying, "I join millions of Asian youth in expressing profound gratitude for the generosity of the European Union and all its members."
