UN FEMINIST GROUP ADMITS AGENDA COMPLETE FOR INTERNATIONAL CRIMINAL COURT
NEW YORK, May 2, 2003 (LifeSiteNews.com) - A prominent feminist group at the United Nations has admitted that its goal was to foist its agenda on the International Criminal Court (ICC). In a recent communication, the group has announced that its mission was successful and is complete and as such the group is restructuring.
The Women's Caucus for Gender Justice, which was a major advocate of the inclusion of the crime of "forced pregnancy" within the definition of crimes under the jurisdiction of the ICC reveals in its letter that it "was formed in 1997 to advocate for a gender perspective in the negotiations toward the International Criminal Court."
In its letter the group reveals that beyond being intimately involved in the push for the ICC as well as the definition of crimes, the group and its network of feminist groups worldwide played a key role in the selection of judges for the court. As LifeSite reported, the three top judges on the ICC are all related to pro-abortion activities.
With the court having completed its formation, the group announced that it is closing its New York office and instituting a new mission at The Hague, the new home of the ICC. The new effort will be known as Women's Initiatives for Gender Justice.
The group has encouraged feminist groups worldwide to use the ICC as a tool to further their agendas. The letter said: "Women's groups around the world must now own the ICC and incorporate this new mechanism of international justice and accountability more fully into the consciousness of our work and strategies." The group's office at The Hague will coordinate such efforts.
