TORONTO, September 10, 2003 (LifeSiteNews.com) - The Family Coalition Party (FCP) released its new detailed "Pro-Life Policy Directions" last week. While the FCP cannot itself restore full legal protection to all human beings, from the moment of conception to natural death, since that is a matter for the federal government, it has committed to "urge the federal government" to do so.

Regarding provincial matters, if given the chance, the Party is committed to implementing:
- Expanded government programs to support pregnant women with food, housing, clothing and health needs.
- Health care coverage for children in the womb.
- Adoption tax credits
- Encouraging abstinence education in public schools.
- Doctors performing abortions will be required to get informed consent from patients.
- A mandatory 48-hour waiting period to reconsider the decision to abort.
- Parental consent for abortions for minors.
- Mandatory reporting of abortion complications.
- Public funds would not be used to support injurious elective procedures such as abortion.
- Pro-life individuals will again be granted freedom of speech rights to demonstrate peacefully in front of hospitals, abortion clinics or any other public place of their choice.
