Mississippi Abortionist's Medical License Suspended for Malpractice
Charged with wrongful death of abortion victim in Alabama.
JACKSON, Mississippi, August 20, 2004 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Abortionist Malachy DeHenre had his license to practice medicine in Mississippi suspended Thursday, following a suspension in Alabama, where a woman allegedly died as a result of the abortion he committed on her there last year.
The incident was not an isolated one -- the Alabama State Board of Medical Examiners said DeHenre was a danger to his patients, and that he had perpetrated "repeated malpractice," according to an Associated Press report.
"We couldn't wait another day to take action," Mississippi Board of Medical Licensure executive director Dr. W. Joseph Burnett told the AP. "He won't be practicing in Mississippi."
In March, 2003, a woman "began hemorrhaging uncontrollably" following an abortion from DeHenre. The malpractice necessitated a complete hysterectomy, performed at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
An Alabama woman died 18 hours after receiving an abortion from DeHenre in November, 2003. Leigh Ann Stephens Alford, 34, died of a perforated uterus. Her husband has filed a wrongful death and negligence lawsuit against DeHenre and the Summit Medical Center where she sustained the injury.
