* A new Leger Marketing survey, conducted June 2-7, says that among decided voters Liberals had 33%, Conservatives 30%, New Democratic Party at 19% Bloc Quebecois 12%

* Liberal campaign co-chair David Herle has said the Liberals are on a downward spiral and desperate. Papers are reporting that in a conference call for candidates when some complained that the Party's new negative attack ads would make them look desperate, Herle apparently responded, "We are desperate."

* Despite the downward spiral the game-plan will remain the same. "I certainly do not intend to change that game plan," said Prime Minister Martin.

* Stephen Harper continues to banter back on abortion: "First of all, all legislation continues to be subject to Supreme Court review for constitutionality in any case. But as I say I have no intention of introducing abortion legislation and I think the chances of any being passed in this parliament are virtually non-existent."

* Conservative Leader Stephen Harper -- under fire on abortion and gay rights issues -- is being accused of ordering two Calgary-area MPs to not attend a meeting of a Christian group that opposes Canada's hate crimes legislation. A spokesman for Rob Anders says Conservative party officials told the Calgary West MP that Bill C-250 was not a big issue in the campaign and Anders agreed. Conservative party communications director Jim Armour said Ottawa officials did phone Myron Thompson and Anders, but only to remind them the meeting's goal of eliminating Bill C-250 was contrary to the policies of the party, which wants only to amend it. http://www.canada.com/calgary/calgaryherald/news/story.html?id=c1fce65f-26ff-42e...
