Urgent Prayer Drive Re: Canadian Federal Election
TORONTO, June 11, 2004 (LifeSiteNews.com) - LifeSitenews.com is inviting organizations and religious leaders of all denominations to join in a special prayer drive for the remaining 17 days of the Canadian federal election campaign. We are encouraging Canada's people of faith to pray that voters and candidates, in all parties, will be moved to place protection of life and family as their first election priority at this critical time in Canada's history. This is a strictly non-partisan, spiritual effort of intersession for the welfare of the nation.
In a Special Report for today we provide a letter that we hope many will distribute or take as a guide for their own letters or emails to encourage members of congregations and organizations to join in this effort. In the letter, LifeSiteNews.com news editor John-Henry Westen states , "Prayer is the most powerful tool at the disposal of everyone. We ask that you join in a prayer drive for the duration of the election and that you would make it part of your daily prayers and public prayers on Sunday, June 20 and Sunday June 27. A suggested prayer:
"We implore you Lord that all Canadians give first priority to the right to life and the dignity of the family when they vote in the upcoming election."
