Canadian Federal Election Buzz - June 16
John Hof of Campaign Life Coalition B.C. noted to LifeSiteNews that leading B.C. pro-abortion activist Joyce Arthur had signed the Women Demand Better on-line petition twice...both with her own name!
The CBC Radio Ottawa June 16 noon newscast reported on former Ontario Bill Davis campaigning this week with Belinda Stronach. The CBC's John McGrath reported that "Stronach and other Conservatives are fielding a lot of questions about social values. Stronach supports same sex marriage, but other Conservatives disagree and oppose that and abortion. Bill Davis says he doesn't expect a Stephen Harper government to reflect that stance". Davis was then quoted as stating "I find that once people face increased responsibilities, ah, they understand that they must represent a broader cross-section of the views of the public".
The Toronto Star reported Wednesday that "the gay-rights group Egale called on Canadians to vote strategically against the Conservatives, warning that: 'Team Harper represents the biggest threat to Charter protection,' and noting Conservative MPs have opposed "every measure to advance gay and lesbian equality."'
