CLEARWATER, Florida, October 22, 2004 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Florida Governor Jeb Bush's appeal to the state Supreme Court to reconsider striking down Terri's Law was rejected Thursday.

Terri's Law was created as a last-ditch effort to save brain-damaged Terri Schiavo's life in 2003, when a court-approved measure instigated by her estranged husband, Michael Schiavo, mandated that her feeding tube be removed. The court ruled the law "unconstitutional" in September this year, paving the way for Michael to follow through with euthanasizing Terri.

Earlier this month, Bush's lawyer said he may appeal the case to the US Supreme Court if the Florida Supreme Court refused to reconsider their decision.

Michael Schiavo has been co-habiting with another woman and has two children by her.
