Fly the Flag Upside Down This Canada Day to Protest Gay 'Marriage' Law
Every Politician Who Voted in Favour Will be Targeted for Defeat
OTTAWA, June 29, 2005 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Reacting to the passage of homosexual 'marriage' legislation in the House of Commons yesterday, Campaign Life Coalition, one of the major opponents to the bill, has stated that "With the passage of Bill C-38, Canada sinks to the bottom of the pit in its downward, destructive spiral."
Jim Hughes, National President of Campaign Life Coalition (CLC) said, "This vote in Parliament will go down in history as a black day for Canada." Adding that, "Every politician who voted for this odious legislation will be targeted for defeat in the upcoming election."
CLC National Organizer Mary-Ellen Douglas, explained to LifeSiteNews.com that flying a flag upside down is an international sign of distress. "Perhaps every Canadian should fly the flag upside down this Canada Day because never has our country been in such utter distress," she said. "Paul Martin has denigrated Canada on the world stage as a country which stands for nothing."
A press release by CLC noted, "Marriage, the union of one man and one woman will no longer be an institution recognized and protected by government. Stability and protection for our children will not be the concern of Parliament. But then our governments have allowed the destruction of 3 million babies in the womb, it has allowed scientists to use their vulnerable bodies for human experimentation and now has abandoned them in this attack on the family itself."
Campaign Life Coalition expects the next government to have the integrity to repeal the legislation and has promised to work to elect MPs to accomplish this goal.
