MALAGA, Spain, October 19, 2005, (LifeSiteNews.com) - Some members of the Spanish Association of Catholic Pharmacists, citing “conscientious objection,” have refused to sell condoms at their pharmacies in spite of intense pressure.

Alicia Cueto, secretary general of the Anti-AIDS Association of Malaga, states that the position taken by these pharmacists is a “very grave problem”. However, a spokesperson for the College of Pharmacology in Malaga said that the pharmacists in question are well within their rights.

In a local paper the pharmacists say their decision rests on the belief that selling condoms “involves a clear incitement to murder” since it gives the false impression that it fully protects against the AIDS virus.
