Children Can Consent to Sex Says Ohio Pedophile
Claims pedophilic sex is a sacred ritual protected under freedom of religion
By Hilary White
CLEVELAND, August 3, 2006 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Phillip Distasio, 34, of Rocky River, Ohio, has claimed that children have the ability to consent to sexual relations with adults. He also said his apartment was a religious sanctuary for smoking marijuana and having sex with children.
Distasio is defending himself in court by challenging the constitutionality of the drug and pedophilia laws, claiming that his drug use and sex acts were "sacred rituals" of his religion.
He appeared in court Wednesday, answering to 74 charges of rape, drugs and pandering obscenity to minors. The victims are nine disabled and austistic boys, all but one of whom is under 13. If convicted, he faces a mandatory life sentence.
Distasio's unorthodox opinions about pedophilia, however, are hardly unheard of. Pedophilia is gaining acceptance around the world as the next logical step in the "pan-sexual" revolution, in which any sex act is morally defensible as long as the parties "consent". The consent requirement, however, is open to interpretation since pedophiles and advocates for bestiality routinely argue that children and even animals are capable of consenting.
In the Netherlands, the newly established pedophilia political party – thus far consisting of three members – was permitted to exist by a court that ruled that any "opinion" was valid in a free democratic state. The Love, Freedom and Diversity (NVD) party advocates for the complete legalization of marijuana and hard drugs and for entirely abolishing the age of consent.
In Canada, a poll recently found that roughly 19% of Canadians do not believe pedophilia to be morally wrong or do not know. Distasio reflected this growing acceptance when he said, "Not all pedophilia is bad, and sex [with boys] can be healthy."
Calling himself, "Brother Petty," Distasio is a member of the homosexual pedophile organization, NAMBLA, the North American Man/Boy Love Association. He claims to be a "pagan friar" and a member of a religion called Arcadian Fields Ministries. He ran an independent school from his home in which he lured children into what county police called "sadistic" sex acts.
Police believe that there are many more victims, most of whom are disabled and unable to come forward. Distasio had worked around children for ten years at the time of his arrest.
He said, "I'm a pedophile. I've been a pedophile for 20 years. The only reason I'm charged with rape is that no one believes a child can consent to sex. The role of my ministry is to get these cases out of the courtrooms."
