No Jail for Two Homosexual Rapist Teachers
One judge was keynote speaker at Lesbian and Gay Bar Association Dinner

BROCKTON, Massachusetts/ ORFORDVILLE, Wisconsin, January 19, 2006 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Judges in two separate cases of rape by homosexual high school teachers have let the rapists off without prison.
Brockton Superior Court Judge Suzanne V. Delvecchio handed Gregory Pathiakis, 26, of Brockton, Mass, a suspended, 2 1/2-year sentence, followed by five years probation. He admitted to sexually molesting a 15-year-old student on December 23, 2003. WorldNetDaily reported that in a written statement read in court by his father, the Middleboro High School student told Pathiakis, “I feel you deserve jail. You are a disgrace to all teachers.”
“He was in a position of authority over these kids,” lamented Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz. Cruz asked the court for a minimum of four years in prison. That the rapist did not go to jail he said was “disheartening.”
The first woman to be appointed Chief Justice of the Massachusetts Superior Court, DelVecchio gave the keynote address for a Massachusetts Lesbian and Gay Bar Association Annual Dinner in 2000.
Meanwhile, Rock County Judge Alan Bates sentenced former choir instructor Gary Hoff to three years probation for his assault. Hoff, who worked at Parkview School District in Orfordville, Wisconsin, pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor fourth-degree sexual assault charge against a 16-year-old boy.
Hoff was also the perpetrator of an assault on a 15-year-old boy in 1993, although the victim only came forward last year. Jeb McMahon, now 27, said he was disappointed with the light sentence imposed by Bates. “I’m not happy with what all’s been found in the investigation,” he said in court. “I would like to see you set a strong example that this is not something, as a community, we’re going to tolerate.”
Both cases follow a similar outrage in Vermont this month, where a judge sentenced a child rapist to 60 days in prison.
