FDA Wants Public Comment Regarding Materials Used to Create Vaccines
Concerns using either ethical cell lines or cell lines, both new and existing, from aborted babies
By Meg Jalsevac
WASHINGTON, November 1, 2006 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The United States Food and Drug Administration is requesting comments and feedback regarding the guidelines that they have issued to pharmaceutical companies that produce vaccinations. The guidelines in question, Docket Number 2006D-0383, pertain to the developing of vaccines which are created using either ethical cell lines or cell lines, both new and existing, from aborted babies.
The FDA will accept public responses to the guidelines from citizens of any country until December 28, 2006.
Part of the controversy surrounding modern day vaccinations lies in the fact that some vaccinations originate from unethical cell lines. That is, the cellular material used to produce the vaccines is taken from the body of an aborted baby.
Critics of such vaccinations assert that there are several adequate and ethical cell sources that could be used to create vaccinations. Japan currently uses a rubella vaccine that was initially produced and subsequently reproduced from ethical cell lines.
Debi Vinnedge of Children of God for Life says, “It only makes sense to utilize non-objectionable cell lines in vaccine production so that all people can benefit from them without compromising their moral beliefs and pro-life convictions.”
The Children of God for Life website is encouraging people to register through their website to file a comment with the FDA so that they can maintain an accurate count of comments submitted. They assert that the official count will allow them to hold the FDA accountable to the volume of comments. A total count will also send a clear message to lawmakers that the public is concerned about the issue and assure pharmaceutical companies that there would be an adequate market if they provided an ethical alternative to the current vaccinations.
Children of God for Life encourages those who want to comment to send a copy of their comments to the Center for Disease Control and to the US Department of Health and Human Services as well as the FDA.
Registering at the Children of God for Life website will result in those with comments being included in the official count, (the link will also direct readers on how to proceed to the FDA comment site):
