Public Nudity: Canadian Liberal Politicians and at least one Supreme Court Justice
Editorial by John-Henry Westen
As if Canada was not embarrassed enough by the childish antics of some Liberal politicians . . .
- Liberal (former) MP Carolyn Parrish who stomped on a Bush doll, called him a "moron" and referring to Americans said "I hate those bastards"
- Liberal MP Belinda Stronach, who was just named as the mistress in a divorce settlement, has said that women's groups which do not support abortion should not receive government funding
- Liberal (former) MP Hedy Fry claimed falsely in the House of Commons that racism crosses were burning in Prince George British Columbia. When challenged on her facts she said the mayor revealed the situation to her. The mayor's office denied it categorically. "She may well have had the wrong community, or the wrong country for that matter," he said.
This week, ironically anti-pornography week, Canadians were treated to the news that a high-ranking Liberal politician and at least one Supreme Court Justice have frolicked in public in the nude.
Liberal MP Scott Brison, a former Liberal Leadership candidate, has posed nude for a fundraising calendar. The openly homosexual MP who crossed the floor to the Liberals from the Conservatives, added to the move a crass joke. "I'm just trying to be a good member. I understand I'm not the only politician in the calendar, but they're up for some stiff competition," he told the press. (coverage: http://thechronicleherald.ca/Front/9001787.html )
Defending his move, Brison cited Liberal Leadership front-runner Bob Rae, who was recently filmed skinny dipping for a gag with homosexual comedian Rick Mercer. Rae, the former Premier of Ontario and quite possibly a future Prime Minister of Canada, has his skinny dipping video littering the internet. (see it here: http://youtube.com/watch?v=B1blymg20dw )
Yesterday, the Globe and Mail revealed that one of the nine Supreme Court Justices has apparently gone on a nude cruise. Supreme Court Chief Justice McLachlin investigated the report, but after not being able to ascertain which of the justices was referenced, she joked with her fellow justices in a memo. Entitled "Re. Nude Cruising," the memo said: "I made inquiries into the identity of the judge, but was rebuffed on a claim of journalistic privilege. . . . All this is to say, that our secret is safe."
While it may not turn out to be accurate, such an action would come as no surprise to the Canadian public. It was after all seven of those nine justices who forced Canada to legalize swingers clubs. (see coverage: http://www.lifesitenews.com/ldn/2005/dec/05122104.html ) As a result of that decision they also caused severe damage to the legal concept of community standards on moral issues (Canadian Supreme Court’s “Swingers” Ruling Sets Dangerous Precedent, Says Organization (http://www.lifesitenews.com/ldn/2006/may/06050307.html).
