Communiqué to LifeSiteNews.com from the Knights of Malta Re: Rejection of Pro-Abortion Terry McAuliffe
The Order of the Knights of Malta has been a religious Order since 1113. According to its Constitutional Charter, members of the Order are required to maintain exemplary Christian behavior in their private and public life, contributing to the maintenance of the Order's traditions.
[Terry McAuliffe] Is not sending a CV, or an applications form that one is allowed to be part of the Order.
The majority of the 12,000 knights and dames composing the Order are lay members who, albeit they have not taken any religious vows, are dedicated to the exercise of Christian virtue and charity. They are committed to deepening their spirituality within the Church and to devoting their energies in serving others. It is incumbent on them to collaborate effectively in the hospitaller and social works of the Order. The admission process to the Order of Malta can be very long, and it does not necessarily conclude positively.
Considering the requisites there is no one single possibility for Mr Terry McAuliffe, to become a member of the Order of Malta.
Thank you for writing us. Best regards
