Canadian Politicians Take Part in Toronto's Raunchy Gay Pride Parade
Two federal Liberal leadership candidates and the Ontario Premier and Conservative leader both party with the revelers
By Steve Jalsevac
July 18, 2008 (LifeSIteNews.com) - On June 29 Toronto's annual parade of homosexual revelers in various states of dress from decent to totally nude (but with sandals that make them legal) and often engaged in raunchy public antics, took place in the city's downtown. Increasing numbers of Canadian politicians feel compelled to participate in this annual celebration of sex each year and Canada's MacLean's magazine just 2 days ago posted a photo journal on its website of many of those politicians in the parade.
Some of the politicians are known open homosexuals themselves, while others are strong sympathizers as well as being well aware of the enormous clout that the gay movement currently has in Canadian politics. The MacLeans photos are quite tame, avoiding the many more explicit flesh baring and sexual antics in the parade, but they provide a convenient record of which politicians have decided to very publicly align themselves with this movement.
Most notably present were the Catholic premier of Ontario Dalton McGuinty and his Progressive Conservative counterpart John Tory (with a lovely rainbow powder puff) and federal Liberal leadership contenders Bob Rae and Michael Ignatieff (currently the deputy leader). Also seen having a great time, arm in arm with two bare chested paraders, one of whom is Toronto Green candidate Chris Tindal, is Green party leader Elizabeth May.
Also photographed in the festivities were Liberal MPs Belinda Stronach and Boris Wrzesnewskyj, NDP MP Peggy Nash and federal NDP leader Jack Layton and his wife NDP MP Olivia Chow. Liberal MP Mario Silva was also there and Liberal MP Carolyn Bennett appears in her photo very happily embracing a transvestite man in exotic clothes and hat. Former Ontario provincial NDP candidate Andrea Németh is also noted as having been present.
Additional photos show Adam Giambrone, city councillor, chair of the Toronto Transit Commission and former president of the federal NDP, Andrea Németh, former Ontario provincial NDP candidate and openly homosexual Ontario Liberal Super-Minister George Smitherman, as well as Pamela Taylor, a candidate with the provincial Tories.
Not to be outdone by any of the above is Toronto's left leaning, greater power seeking Mayor David Miller doing the Can Can up Toronto's famed Yonge St. with two dress clad transvestites.
And finally, MacLeans highlights that the Metropolitan Community Church Service "was lead by Rev. Brent Hawkes, one of the lead activists to bring same-sex marriage to Canada and recent recipient of the Order of Canada." It is not known if two other Order of Canada recipients - explicit sex-ed guru Sue Johanson or abortionist Henry Morgentaler - were also present.
