McDonald's Protesters Gather in California: "Stop Promoting Homosexuality"

CALIFORNIA, July 23, 2008 (LifeSiteNews.com)- A group of frustrated protesters gathered in front of the McDonald's restaurant in Citrus Heights, California yesterday to voice their opposition to McDonald's explicit advocacy of the homosexual lifestyle, reports World Net Daily.
The protestors wielded signs saying, "Stop promoting homosexuality," "I'm NOT lovin' it," and "Christians: Boycott McDonald's."
The protest was brought to a close when store officials heeded the wishes of the protesters in agreeing to convey their concerns to the corporate office.
"They came out and talked with us," said Yuriy Popko, one of those who took part in the protest. "Basically we had two requests: a notice to the public and that they e-mail our concerns to the corporate office."
This protest follows McDonald's recent rebuttal against the pro-family activists who are urging concerned citizens to boycott McDonald's due to its membership in the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC) (http://www.lifesitenews.com/ldn/2008/jul/08071110.html).
The American Family Association (AFA) initiated the boycott, which began on July 3rd. With over 2.2 million members, the AFA's main motivation is to ensure that money flowing into the over 31, 000 McDonald's restaurants world-wide from family households is not funneled into anti-family initiatives.
"This boycott is not about hiring homosexuals, or homosexuals eating at McDonald's, or how homosexual employees are treated," states the AFA.
"It is about McDonald's, as a corporation, choosing to put the full weight of their corporation behind promoting the homosexual agenda, including homosexual marriage."
