By Thaddeus M. Baklinski
WASHINGTON, DC, March 31, 2008 (LifeSiteNews.com) - The National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC) has announced that Richard Ellis, vice president of communications for McDonald's USA, has been appointed to its board of directors.
A press release earlier this month (http://www.nglcc.org/ht/display/ReleaseDetails/i/15486/pid/576) confirmed that this organization, which promotes homosexual business ventures, has received an endorsement from McDonald's and has the VP of communications for the world's biggest fast-food chain on its board.
"We could not be more delighted with the addition of Richard to the Board," said NGLCC co-founder and president Justin Nelson. "Richard brings his extensive experience in communications and public affairs to a dynamic team of leaders."
"I'm thrilled to join the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce team and ready to get to work," said Ellis. "I share the NGLCC's passion for business growth and development within the LGBT community and I look forward to playing a role in moving these important initiatives forward."
"Richard's vast Board experience with LGBT and advocacy related organizations make him an excellent addition to the board," said NGLCC co-founder and CEO Chance Mitchell. "Richard is going to be a terrific director and we look forward to working with him towards great things."
Before joining McDonald's USA, Ellis was vice president of communications and public affairs for McDonald's in Canada.
According to a WorldNetDaily report, McDonald's officials declined to make a comment on the placement of one of its executives on NGLCC board, but did confirm the corporation's support for the agenda of the homosexual business lobby.
"McDonald's is indeed a Corporate Partner and Organizational Ally of NGLCC. Our vice president of U.S. communications, Richard Ellis, was recently elected to its board of directors," said the brief statement from Heidi M. Barker, senior director of media relations.
