Final Comment on Broken Window Series

Dear Readers,

Once in a while we send out our Special Reports to you because readers have requested them for their records and want to forward them to others.

This series, primarily regarding the Catholic Church, was written to address a major factor in the advancement of the anti-life, anti-family forces - the negligence and weak response and even deep complicity in that advancement by Catholics who have been very badly shepherded in recent decades.

The Popes have thankfully been courageously outspoken, but they have generally been ignored on these issues by many of their clergy and religious at all levels and therefore also by the Catholic laity.

The series is a constructive one, trying to address the root cause of a decline of religious belief and practice and provide a possible strategy (simply based on the reality of fundamental human nature) that may help willing, faithful Church leaders to counter the serious problems that still exist in most Catholic dioceses.

If various dioceses succeed in cleaning house and the faith is renewed, it is a win-win for everyone, regardless of denominational theological differences. Core Catholic teaching on the sacredness of life, family life and sexual morality is based not only on scripture but also on natural law, which can be accepted and understood by anyone. This body of teaching is incredibly thorough and of great practical benefit to all cultures. It compliments similar principles held by many other Christian denominations and even many non-Christian denominations. Natural law is written in the human heart.

The missing army in the battle for life and family has been the Churches, especially the Catholics in the developed Western nations. Yes, many have responded heroically and endured years of personal sacrifices, but any seasoned pro-life leader will tell you their sad tales of crushing disappointments, frequent weak responses and even active undermining of their efforts by Church leaders and also ordinary Christians.

There has been great frustration and heartbreak over this, especially since it has always been clear that if many more Church leaders and their flocks had done what they should, what their faith demands, this battle would have been over long ago.

A good number of Catholic Church leaders appear to have finally comprehended what has happened and are responding as shepherds should, with true faith and courage and right priorities. A promising wind is definitely now blowing through the Church. Many Catholics and others were overjoyed to see the passionate statements from U.S. Catholic bishops on the necessity for Catholics to vote only according to their faith principles  - above all, for life and family. However, there are still a majority of bishops who are too quiet and more than a few still complicit in the corrupt culture.

Still, there are strong indications that the Church is finally on the right road again. There is real hope now for an increase of repentance, renewal and rebuilding of the Catholic Church in the United States. The broken window series is our attempt to help that along - because it is crucial to the defence of life, family and our very freedoms.

Nothing will happen or can happen to stem the evil tide until all Christians return to living lives of Christian belief and practice. That is the key to winning the great culture war in our opinion and according to our many years of involvement in the struggle.
