Commentary on August 26 News - Kennedy, etc.

Dear readers,

The death of Senator Kennedy calls us to reflect on the seriousness with which we must pray for our politicians, especially Christian politicians, to remain true to their pro-life convictions.  Kennedy was pro-life but he betrayed pro-life and pro-family values seemingly for political advantage.

We now pray that he had a conversion prior to his death and for consolation for his grieving family.

It is however also a time to pray for the Catholic Church as it will now be called on to make a grandiose funeral for Kennedy - a man who was one of the most extreme enemies of the Church's life and family stands in politics.

Those Catholic clergy who misled Kennedy or failed to strenuously call him back to true faith, must now also consider the horrific possibility of the eternal consequences of their actions or omissions.

Kathleen Gilbert's review of the movie, The Human Experience, is well worth reading. And go to the movie's website for some inspiration. There are indeed many good people today working to transform and save the culture.

The Denver Archdiocese has provided a new link to Archbishop Chaput's column "Health Care and the Common Good." This has been placed in yesterday's report

In Monday's NewsBytes2 there were five or so links that had an extra space in them thereby disabling them. The links are fixed.

If you use Rogers email please note that there is now yet another problem with receiving LifeSiteNews via Rogers. In addition to the usual very long delay in passing on the emails, Rogers is now increasingly classifying our emails as spam. So, if you do not receive LifeSiteNews emails on certain days, go to your online Rogers email account, find the emails in the spam folder, check and right click on them and select "not spam". We are told the program will learn to not place LifeSiteNews in the spam folder if you do this a few times. Still, why are they being put there in the first place?
