News

Good Morning Friends,

As you can see from the progress bar on our home page, it is only 10 days until Christmas, and we are not yet halfway toward reaching our Christmas fundraiser goal!

But all is not lost, because today we are switching into phase two of our Christmas appeal. Last year at this time you might remember that we launched a $5 for Life campaign and so many readers generously responded that it made last year's campaign the most successful in our 12 year history.

We figured that if lots of readers gave at least $5, the cumulative amount would go a long way toward meeting our expenses. And that is precisely what happened.

Readers felt confident to donate $5, $10 or whatever amount they decided was right for them. There was no pressure to make a large gift to our work. Anything at all was welcome.

Every single day literally tens of thousands of people read LSN, and in the past year that number was millions. If just a fraction of that number donated even a small amount to help pay for this free news service, then our expenses would be more than covered.

Right now we are still a long way from reaching our Christmas goal. However, there is still a week and a half until Christmas, and if everyone steps up with whatever they can reasonably afford, then there is a good chance that we can meet that goal.

So, again this year we are asking all of you who have not yet donated to LifeSiteNews - why not donate at least $5? That should be feasible for anyone. At that price LSN is an incredible bargain, considering everything that you receive from this news service every week day!

To those who have already donated as much as they can – we are tremendously grateful. This appeal is not directed towards you.

I know it's Christmas and maybe those who have not responded yet are like me – strapped for cash with a looming need for packages for all the children to place under the tree.

However, $5 for LSN's high quality reports won't break the bank, or dampen the smiles on your little ones' faces.  In fact, it will brighten the smiles of future generations – those for whom we fight the culture wars.

The key to the success of this campaign is to have many people respond.

We cannot emphasize enough that these smaller donations, from many, are absolutely critical to the success of LifeSiteNews. Unlike the abortion lobby we have no billionaire donors who are willing to drop a couple million dollars at the drop of a hat. We are completely dependent on the generosity of our supporters.

Of course, there are readers who can give more and we encourage and need those donations as well to cover LSN's expenses. We have received donations of $100, $200, $500, $1000, $2000 and even one of $5000 – but of course many just can't do that.

We are still aiming to raise another $60,000 this campaign. It may not happen. Maybe we won't even get close, but all we can do is tell you what we genuinely need, say a few prayers, and leave the results up to you.

So why not become a part of LSN's financial support community today? It's a special group of people who have made a unique personal commitment to life, family and truth.

If you donated last Christmas, but have not done so this Christmas, could you match last year's donation? And if you have never given a gift to LifeSiteNews before – what better time than Christmas to begin.

Many thanks and may God bless you and your family this Christmas!
