Hello LifeSiteNews Readers

First the good news. The $1,000 challenge by reader Chris from Pennsylvania was a wonderful success. We have to express tremendous gratitude to Chris for making the challenge. That is, he offered to donate $1,000 if three other LSN readers first donated that amount.

Well, today Chris donated his $1,000. That is because Matthew from Austria, Calvin from Georgia, Kevin from New Jersey, Carmen from Surrey, England, Richard from Indiana and the Stoessels from New York State each met the challenge with a $1,000 donation.

That's right – Six LifeSiteNews readers donated $1,000 in response to Chris's challenge. With Chris's donation our donation thermometer was advanced $7,000 closer towards our $100,000 Christmas season goal. We are now at $46,795. A very special thank you goes to all these generous supporters.

Now, the not so good news: It seems that the overwhelming majority of readers are still not motivated to donate even as little as $5 or $10 for the service we provide. Only 135 readers responded to our $5 for Life appeal so far today, donating $5 or more. That is a mystery that we don't comprehend, but we are hoping many more will finally make at least that tiny commitment. How about it folks? It keeps us going.

Regarding today's news, you are probably reading about certain very significant quotes from Pope Benedict's statement on the environment only from LifeSiteNews. It appears that all the world's media, including much of the Catholic media, and sad to say, even the Vatican Press Office, have not placed sufficient emphasis on these statements by the Pope on the issue. The spin has been to make the Pope's World Day of Peace message appear to support the current enviromental extremism and related social engineering that there is at attempt to impose on the entire world right now.

This shows the critical importance of our alternative news service.

China, as every other nation that is attempting to reverse a long time low birthrate policy, is finding that the people are not responding. The majority no longer want more than one or two children. That means very serious trouble down the not too distant road. Can the Chinese now force couples to have children, as they forced them to kill their unborn or newborns above the official one child limit? I don't think so.

The book Fatherless, through the use of a powerful fiction narrative about the personal lives of several characters, reveals much about why our culture is now in its current precarious state. It also includes some very inspiring developments. The novel would make an excellent Christmas gift.
