Thank you to all those who have raised our fundraising total to $76,421. That is encouraging! The appeal letters have ended, but we hope that those who have not yet donated will remember us the remaining few days of December and help us to get past that last necessary $24,000.

Today we have a mix of items for the last regular news day before our Christmas break. Tomorrow we will publish Christmas reflections from our staff who I must tell you are a very special group of people – without exception. I am sure you will enjoy these personal articles as many did last year.

The Top Ten Good News Stories of 2009 is a fascinating summary. It shows what struck readers as being especially interesting to them.

The US health care bill struggle is unfortunately continuing. Almost everyone is very weary of this, as we are - just what the radical Democrats are counting on. Please do not give in to their ruthless strategy, as difficult as that is. Stay on top of it, as we will also do on your behalf.

Bart Stupak is to be commended for valiantly standing for the highest principles despite incredible pressure from Democrat party henchmen. Senator DeMint has exposed what seems to be a very disturbing item buried in the amendments. We should expect the Dems to continue to use whatever ethical or unethical means they deem necessary to get their bill and its still far from fully understood or read contents rammed through the day before Christmas. Where are the Dickens ghosts of past, present and future when we need them?

Today we provide a preliminary agenda of events for the all-important Washington March for life Jan. 20-23. There will be a flurry of major pro-life activities in the US Capital during those days – well worth even heroic efforts to travel to Washington to take part in them. The same goes for the West Coast Walk for Life in San Francisco on Jan. 23.

We will keep on top of the health care battle and publish crucial reports as necessary during our Christmas break that ends on Jan. 4 when LifeSiteNews returns to its regular, full routine.
