WARSAW, July 13, 2009 (LifeSiteNews.com) – A new survey published this weekend in the pages of the Rzeczpospolita daily newspaper states that fully three quarters of Poles are against same-sex “marriage” and that 87 percent are against homosexual couples adopting children.

The GfK poll conducted last week among Poles shows that seventy-five percent of respondents do not agree with same-sex “marriage,” with only 14 percent of Poles having no objection to legalizing such unions.

Professor Zdzislaw Krasnodebski from Bremen University said the result of the poll “shows that Poland still has a society drawn on traditional values, and is not succumbing to Europe-wide trends.”

Dr. Norbert Maliszewski, a social psychologist from Warsaw University, speculated that the increasing amount of homosexual-rights marches held in Polish cities has actually had a reverse effect on Polish society, leading to the results of the recent poll.
