Obama Appoints another Homosexual Official

By James Tillman

WASHINGTON, August 20, 2010 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Thursday, President Obama announced his intent to recess appoint four nominees to various administration posts; Richard Sorian, one of the appointees, is openly homosexual.

Sorian, a former senior advisor at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), will be the Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs at the HHS. He has previously served in the Clinton administration and worked on AIDS-related issues.

President Obama nominated Sorian in October of 2009, but the Senate had not confirmed him before its recess this month – a delay that Obama criticized.

“At a time when our nation faces so many pressing challenges,” he said, “I urge members of the Senate to stop playing politics with our highly qualified nominees, and fulfill their responsibilities of advice and consent.”

“Until they do, I reserve the right to act within my authority to do what is best for the American people.”

Each of the four recess appointments Obama made had waited an average of 303 days for confirmation, according to the White House. They will have to be confirmed by the Senate before the end of the next session of Congress, or they will lose their positions.

President Obama has previously appointed Kevin Jennings, an openly homosexual man, to be deputy assistant to the Office of Safe Schools in the Department of Education. Jennings was former executive director of the Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network, which had infamously promoted pornographic materials for children in grades 7-12. He also came under fire for the “Fistgate” scandal, in which sexually violent practices were taught to youth at a GLSEN conference.

President Obama has also appointed a “transgender” individual, who had “transitioned” from male to “female,” to a post in the Commerce Department.

According to the homosexualist Gay and Lesbian Leadership Institute (GLLI), President Obama has appointed a record number of homosexual individuals to administration positions.

GLLI runs a “Presidential Appointments Project” to help ensure that the “White House has access to qualified, capable openly LGBT applicants who want to serve their country, and whose voices will help reflect the diversity and experience of the American people.”
