Over 800 Rabbis Urge Filibuster to Prevent Homosexualization of Military

WASHINGTON, DC, June 16, 2010 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Rabbi Yehuda Levin, official spokesman for family issues of the more than 800 strong Rabbinical Alliance of America, has urged the Senate to filibuster rather than pass a law permitting the open service of homosexuals in the military.

“Passage of such evil legislation would expedite our hurling towards Sodom and Gommorah. It would also threaten to repel Divine Grace from our military’s struggles, and beyond,” he said.

“We call upon the Senate to unapologetically filibuster this legislation.”

Current military code forbids the service of those likely to engage in homosexual conduct, although the Clinton-era “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” (DADT) policy permits homosexuals to serve in the military so long as they keep their orientation a secret.

Law permitting open service by homosexuals, however, is currently attached to the 2010-2011 FY defense appropriations bill before the Senate. An amendment permitting the performance of abortions on domestic and overseas military facilities is also attached to the bill.

Homosexualist activists have long aimed for the repeal of DADT, attacking Obama for his delay in eliminating it, despite Obama’s many other actions in favor of the homosexualist agenda.

“Decent Bible-believing family people have been increasingly outraged by the cravenness of many politicians in their mad dash to turn timeless values on their heads, by advancing homosexual adoption, domestic partnerships, civil unions, ‘marriage,’ and ‘Heather Has Two Mommies,’” said Rabbi Levin.

“The next slice of the salami – the koshering of volitional homosexual activity, along with all aspects of the homosexual culture, throughout the US Military – constitutes a rebellion against G-d, and demoralizes both military and civilian society,” he continued.

Representatives of the armed forces have spoken strongly in favor of DADT, including the head of the U.S. Marines, 1,160 retired U.S. admirals and generals, a former chief of the Pentagon’s Criminal Law Division, over 40 retired military chaplains and other groups.

Rabbi Levin said that it was odd that the “Politically Correct ‘equality’-fanatics in the military, who have already recognized the ‘religious rights’ of Wiccans, would single out traditional Bible-believers to be the object of their Zero-Tolerance policies.”

“This will render it nigh impossible for Bible adherents to serve in the military.”

He concluded by apologizing for the political positions of 2 Jewish members of Congress.

“We wish to express our deep anguish, and apologize to the American people for the role Senators Lieberman and Levin have played in advancing this ‘abominable’ legislation. We condemn them.”

“Enough is enough.”
