Donate to LSN’s Heroes Campaign

They depended on each other, and the world depended on them.”

The tagline from Tom Hanks’ and Steven Spielberg’s popular World War Two (WWII) mini-series, “Band of Brothers”, sheds insight on the incredible story of Easy Company of the US Army 101st Airborne division and their mission in WWII Europe.

The men from Easy Company were heroes – they made incredible sacrifices so that others could live freely.

But the Band of Brothers tagline is not only a fitting description of the men of Easy Company, it also aptly describes those who heroically labor today for the Culture of Life, and more specifically, those who make LifeSiteNews possible.

Ranked the number one site on the net in the categories of “pro-life” and “abortion,” hundreds of thousands of people depend on the staff of LSN to not only keep them informed, but to spread truth to the hearts and minds of those who would never have otherwise been exposed to it.

The staff of LSN is only half of the relationship that sustains LSN – the other equally important half is YOU. We depend on our readers to provide the financial backing for this operation. Without your efforts, our work would be impossible. We depend on each other, and the future of our society is depending on all of us.

And now, during our Heroes campaign, we are asking you to provide us with the funds to operate this vital information tool for the Culture of Life.

We have called it the Heroes Campaign in honor of those who have already sacrificed so much in the defense of life, family and freedom.

And more specifically, we have called it the Heroes Campaign in honor of YOU, our generous readers who continually share the burden in funding this work. Be it Easy Company in the trenches, or the hardworking donors of the pro-life movement, a hero is someone who sacrifices for the sake of what is right.

As the renowned philosopher Peter Kreeft emphasizes, there is indeed a war going on, a culture war that needs these heroes.

So I am asking you today, to please be a hero and donate to this culture-changing news service. If you regularly read our reports you know that much is at stake for all of us.

It is awful to think that 65 years after Easy Company helped end that other Great War, the fight to defend the lives of the innocent, as well as the very best and most crucial principles of our culture still continues.

As John Smeaton, President of the Society for the Protection of Unborn Children, put it, “70 years on we’re not fighting Nazi tyranny but the tyranny of politicians who promote legislation worldwide that destroys the lives of unborn children.” And we know that we are not only fighting abortion, but also euthanasia, embryonic stem cell research, homosexual “marriage,” ruthless de-population programs, religious persecution and more.

And Smeaton, in spelling out society’s current problem, hints at a big part of the solution – because we are fighting politicians and legislation, the best weapon is information.

The men and women of LSN have chosen to devote their lives to a news service because information and awareness are crucial weapons in this fight for life and truth. That is why it is so important that LSN seeks the funds to continue this work. For this war to end, the truth needs be spread to a far greater proportion of the population.

Will you join us?

This fundraiser is a product of necessity. If you believe in the need for unbiased national and international reporting on life, family and culture, then please send us a donation today.

Our goal for this two week campaign is at least $45,000 – the first step towards meeting our 2010 projected total expenses of well over $500,000. Yes, that is a lot, but not for what we do and all the skilled people that belong to our incredibly dedicated team.

Please make a donation today.
