CHINA REINFORCES ONE-CHILD POLICY
BEIJING, Sept 26 (LSN.ca) - An editorial in the Communist Party newspaper has called for making the one-child policy permanent. Having officially been a "great success, preventing at least 250 million births since 1980," the horrendous policy involves forced abortion and economic penalties for those who contravene the law. The People's Daily, said: "We cannot just be content with the current success, we must make population control a permanent policy".
The BBC reports that there are an estimated 60 million more men in China than women due to abortion and infanticide of baby girls.
