CANADIAN WOMAN WHO KILLED DISABLED DAUGHTER RULED CRIMINALLY INSANE
MONTREAL, February 21, 2002 (LSN.ca) - Quebec Superior Court Justice Fraser Martin ruled Wednesday that Rachel Capra Craig, 47, "is not criminally responsible for the death of her daughter by reason of mental disorder." Craig admitted to killing her severely handicapped 14-year-old daughter with a poisonous drug cocktail. Capra Craig was ordered transferred to a locked psychiatric unit for an unspecified period.
Interestingly a CBC Radio News report by Justin Heyward on the matter revealed that Capra Craig "suffered miscarriages and abortions." However the CBC report written for the CBC website left out the fact that Capra Craig suffered abortions.
